how tony hawk got into boarding?
Tony Hawk was age 9 when his older brother gave him a blue fiberglass skateboard, chipped and scratched from years of use. The first time Tony stepped on it and rolled down an alley behind the family’s house in San Diego, there was no epiphany, no revelation … no foreshadowing whatsoever that he would go on to become the most famous skateboarder of all time. He reached the end driveway, looked back at his brother and shouted, “How do I turn?”
Eventually, of course, Tony learned to do more than merely turn. Practicing at the now-defunct Oasis Skatepark, the undersized prodigy soon began to attract attention by performing maneuvers well beyond his years. At age 12 he was winning amateur contests throughout California, at 14 he turned pro, and at 16 he was widely regarded as the best competitive skateboarder in the world. By the time he was 25, he’d competed in 103 pro contests, winning 73 of them and placing second in 19—a record that will almost certainly never be matched. He was crowned vertical skating’s world champion 12 years in a row.

FDR SKATEPARK
Created by skaters, for skaters, it is considered within the skateboarding community to be an excellent park with endless speed lines. The park has several "areas", including the core park that lies under the aforementioned overpass, the neighboring and connecting pool section, and a mini ramp and vert ramp. South Philadelphia's FDR Skate Park has been described by professionals and in magazine articles such as Thrasher and Skateboarder to be a concrete, skateboard 'paradise', The original core of the park includes features like the "Bunker," a 60-foot-long (18 m); the "Dome," a 4-foot (1.2 m) wall of concrete that climbs up into a burly overhang11-foot (3.4 m) next to the Bunker with brick coping and provides privacy from the road; a 6 ft patch of humps called the "Amoeba", this park provides a challenge for skaters of all skill levels, even professionals. As mentioned the park is situated right under the I-95 highway overpass, right off Broad Street, so it is protected from rain and snow.

How To Nail An Ollie
A ollie is a skating trick that its where you get on the board you start to push down a little.
Next you bend your knees slightly to get momentum.
Then you push down on side of the board to start the trick
Then you push down hard and you pop the board up with your foot that what makes an ollie
Those are the steps you take to nail an Ollie in my head from what i remember from practicing it for almost 3 months. I stopped skating for a little after that and then wound up on my back the last time i tried to ollie.

Describing skateboarding
Skateboarding: is a fun activity in which you ride and do tricks and compete with friends to see who can do the most. Skateboarding can also be considered a competitive sport like the DX Games which i will explain in a later post . its also consider a way to show how you feel if your mad people tend to throw there bored. if your being laid back you just glide, T here are many ways to portray a skateboard. Skateboarding has been shaped and influenced by many skateboarders throughout the years and is still being influenced by tv and many young kids today. i got into boarding two yrs ago i learned how to do an Ollie it took me three months (description of an Ollie you bend your knees a bit then you push down with your one foot and then pop the board up). after that i stopped for awhile because i fell and got hurt . Then this year i got back on a board fell on my back and then wanted to keep skating but my friends said to lay there because well i couldn't get up loll.

This is a very common name for boards its one of the more popular brands that people like to use.Real skateboards where made in 2001. the first time i saw one was when i saw a friend do a kick flip. I see them as being one of the safer bards when it comes to skating. my one friends board has lasted him three years i like this board because it doesn't go wobbly or swerve when your riding it within the first month. which is why i would recommend using this board. what do you guys think?
